Founder's Message: Donna Mazalin

Some time ago while still working in Human Resources Management in the Hospitality industry, I had contemplated opening a coffee house and wine bar. Neither was my area of expertise. After much consideration, planning and research, I decided to continue practicing in my profession. I truly enjoyed the diverse aspect of my work: from start-up operations to high volume staffing; from employee relations to training; from managing the many daily challenges that would arise to organizational planning. I realized I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. So, in 1998, I founded Sundance Group, Inc. as boutique human resources consulting firm, based on the principle of “Keeping the Human in Human Resources”. This is the hallmark of my business.

As a business owner and a certified human resources practitioner (PHR), I emphasize these fundamentals: integrity, compassion, continual learning and ethical behavior. By leveraging expertise, business acumen and emotional intelligence, Sundance Group balances the needs of our clients with a compassion for the people within their industries.

My background is from large organizations that span several industries (i.e., casinos, airlines, etc.). At Sundance Group, I combine the highest standards of performance and service that are inherent of these industries with the effectiveness, focus and value of a boutique firm. Sundance Group is flexible, and willing to tailor programs and projects to our clients’ specific needs. Most importantly, we are passionate about what we do. While I still don’t drink coffee, I have broadened my knowledge of wine.
